A series of seven smoking cessation classes will begin at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 4 at the East Tennessee Medical Group Community Room, 266 Joule St, Alcoa.
The classes will continue on Oct. 11, 12, 13, 14, 18 and 25. They will focus on the steps smokers can take to become smoke-free.
The classes will be taught by medical doctors, including Dr. Larry Rahn, Dr. David Saxon, Dr. Lewis Sommerville, Dr. Richard Stanley, and Dr. Fred Tolhurst.
The event is open to the public at a cost of $10 per person; scholarships are available.
